Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage Training
The Mosaic Community Trust is currently offering introductory courses in Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage, training BME women based in Church Street, Westminster, as Indian Head Massage Therapists. The training forms part of the Mosaic Community Trust’s overall aim of addressing the mental health and wellbeing needs of BME residents.
Trained community outreach workers offer residents therapeutic head massages whilst providing advice and support for mental health and wellbeing and access to local mental health and wellbeing services.
The Mosaic Community Trust’s weekly Indian head massage training sessions include topics such as:
• History and benefits of Indian Head Massage
• Human anatomy of the head and neck
• Chakras of the body
• Structure and function of the skin
• Main nerves of the face, neck and shoulders
• Professionalism and ethics
• Concepts and practice of hygiene
• Health and safety related to clinical practice
As Indian Head Massage Therapists participants gain the skills to reach out and improve their community’s overall mental health and wellbeing. They also gain valuable income generating skills to improve household income, resulting in increased confidence and autonomy within the household. Their knowledge, professionalism and skill is widely acknowledged and drawn upon by their community.
